Water Baptism

Baptism declares that you are a follower of Jesus Christ. It is a public confession of your faith in, and commitment to, Jesus Christ. Baptism is a symbol of Christ's burial and resurrection. Our entrance into the water during baptism identifies us with Christ's death on the cross, His burial in the tomb, and His resurrection from the dead. It is a symbol of your new life as a Christian, where we bury the "old life" and rise up to walk in a "new life"!
Water baptism is for every person who has made the decision to believe in Christ. Whether it’s a first step as a new believer or a moment of rededication, baptism is a powerful and meaningful declaration of faith. It’s an opportunity to share with the world—your friends, your family, and your community—that you have chosen to follow Jesus.
At Charis, we require all baptizees to be 5+. We want all ages to feel comfortable and knowledgeable about their next steps in faith, and we believe this is a great starting age for accountability for this step in someone's walk with God.
